Staff Introductions

Liz Gormley

Hometown: Dover, Massachusetts

Cycling experience:  Former Cat 1 Road racer, former Expert level NORBA racer, former Cycling coach for USA Cycling, Cycling Coach for 1988 Olympic Cycling Team, 35 years of bicycle industry experience.

Favorite bike ever:  Teal blue Robin Hood 3- speed converted to a 5-speed with a bar-end shifter, set up with racks for carrying a tent, sleeping bag and Mini-Daiwa.

Something you wouldn’t think was true about Liz, but is… she was a Classics major in college

Drew Cappabianca

Hometown; Glens Falls, NY

Cycling experience: Rode himself (silly) into a knee injury that won't go away... and it keeps him from racing, over, and over again.. but he's devoting 2011 to taking care of it so he can actually make use of his USAC license in 2012!

Favorite bike ever; The Huffy I had when I was 10 that got me hooked on riding.

Something you wouldn’t think was true about Drew but is… he loves 1950s pop/rock.

Caleb Batchelder

Hometown; Argyle, NY

Cycling experience: Started riding my dad's old road bike in 2009. I got serious enough to get my own bike, and I spent the winter crying solitary tears of boredom. In 2010 I started racing with the local junior racing team, the Farm Team. It was a learning experience, and a very humbling one. However, this year I'm back for more!

Favorite bike ever; My Pinarello Fp3.

Something you wouldn’t think was true about Caleb but is… he sings in the shower.

Renee Salerno

Hometown; South Glenns Falls, NY

Cycling Experience: After injuring myself running, I reluctantly purchased a bike in June of 2008.  For the next month I practically lived on my new bike training for my first century ride.  That first century ride will live on in my mind as one of the greatest days of my life!  The following summer I joined in on the Wednesday night ladies rides at Blue Sky.  This will be my third summer riding with the ladies and I’m loving and learning on every ride!  In addition to several charity century rides over the years I competed in my first duathlon, in the summer of 2010.  In the fall of 2010 I raced for the first time in the Tinney’s Bridge to Bridge climb and the Saratoga Cyclocross race.  I had a blast in every race event I entered last year and hope to do some more racing in the future!

Favorite Bike:  My Scattante is my favorite bike.  It is so much more than just a bike. It gets me from A to B, acts as my form of therapy, keeps me fit, and is a wonderful source of entertainment.   However, I do spend a great deal of my time daydreaming about the Parlee Z1, in matte black with laser etching and Di2 components. It’s the night rider of bicycles and I want it bad!

Something you wouldn’t think was true about Renee but is:  Before reuniting with my running shoes and buying my bicycle I was a fat, sad, shy smoker! Gross!
